AM/NS Calvert seeks Engineers to fill senior roles for management of construction, optimization, and development projects. Responsible for analytical activities necessary to assess project feasibility and execution activities necessary to drive projects to completion according to schedules, goals, and budgets. daily activities include: Review project goals and budget resources, then lead engineers in developing process flows, equipment specifications, and project schedules necessary to achieve goals; perform mathematical modeling and engineering analysis to assess feasibility, explore opportunities for LEAN or environmental/sustainability improvements, and draft reports to management on final project proposals; collaborate with regular production team to integrate project activities with minimal interruption of regular production; Collaborate with purchasing team to define purchase agreement terms for equipment and scope of work for services contracts; review specifications of equipment and services from bidding suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with project plans; maintain presence during project execution for problem-solving purposes and to give final acceptance of commissioned equipment or services; maintain availability for life of project to provide leadership and management to project teams, approve costs and change orders, and ensure adherence of project to applicable standards and policies; oversee initial tests of new process flows, equipment components, or other project deliverables and troubleshoot test results; oversee initial full production runs with project deliverables integrated and analyze data to ensure optimum functioning; Lead engineers in finalizing new process drawings and schematics and ensure that final schematics are fully incorporated into operations and maintenance manuals; draft reports on final project results to management with estimated investment returns and other expected performance metrics. Must have Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering (foreign equivalent accepted). Must have three years of experience leading engineering projects in steel manufacturing setting. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering (foreign equivalent accepted) and five years of experience leading engineering projects in steel manufacturing setting as an alternative.
