Critical Environments (Data Center) Specialist
The Critical Environments Specialist (CES) will perform a variety of advanced duties; including receiving and responding to abnormal environmental conditions, preparing basic engineering calculations, field observations, reports and surveys. In addition, the CES will support the critical infrastructure maintenance activities and perform related work as required.
Duties
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge and execution of all mechanical and electrical systems.
- Implement and support maintenance and project activities as needed.
- Assist with monitoring contracted service vendors and scopes of work, methods and procedures to ensure completion of assigned tasks.
- Conduct visual inspections of all equipment dedicated to critical infrastructure; generate reports and log equipment as needed.
- Complete corrective and preventative maintenance work orders received from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Enforce all requirements of the Critical Environments Change Control Process.
- Create reports for incidents that occur during shift and implement emergency response protocol as necessary.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university preferred; five years’ experience in Data Center building operations. Solid knowledge of commercial or industrial building systems and critical infrastructure; technical school/military training helpful.
Proficient in Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint preferred. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
The Critical Environments Specialist will be exposed to a wide variety of information and must be able to discern the appropriate manner in which such information must be handled and protect the integrity of such information at all times.
