ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY
Position Description:
Assistant to Superintendent/Director of Student Services
Qualifications:
-
Proper Pennsylvania Administrative Certification (PA Letter of Eligibility)
-
Eight (8) to ten (10) years experience in multiple areas of public education, including secondary and/or elementary school instruction and administrative/supervision
-
Post Masters work
-
Excellent communication skills
-
Familiar with K-12 curriculum, school organization and management, School District policy, PA school law, collective bargaining and labor relations, human resources, special education programs and law, and budgeting
Responsibilities: Including but not limited to:

Assist the Superintendent with the overall operation of the school district and in providing leadership in the management and administration of the school.

Represents the School District at appropriate local, state and federal meetings.

Supervises the hiring of instructional and support staff, including the advertising, posting, screening, interviewing and recommendations of professionals and support staff.

Coordinates the School District’s special services programs that include: Guidance and Counseling; School Nurses; and Special Education personnel (School Psychologists) and special services programs such as Student Assistance (SAP); Anti-Bullying; Unlawful Harassment and Hazing Programs; and other mandated regulations set forth by PDE or the Federal Government.

Develops new programs or educational models to meet federal and state guidelines.

Reviews all special education records for students transferring into the school district and coordinates all services.

Oversees the development of and revisions to the District’s Special Education plan.
