Job Summary/Basic Functions
An EKU HVAC Technician, maintains troubleshoots and repairs institutional boilers, chillers and cooling towers in accordance with established procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: Experience:
- Two years of related work experience is required.
- Experience must include a working knowledge of boiler, chillers, and cooling towers maintenance procedures.
- Incumbent should have formal training in Low pressure, High Pressure and Hot water boilers.
Licensure & Certifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of National Boiler Codes
- Knowledge of Plumbing and Gas Codes
- Knowledge of EPA regulations.
Job Duties:
- 60% - Maintains and repairs University Boilers and Chillers. - (Essential)
- 20% - Conducts preventative maintenance checks as required. - (Essential)
- 10% - Troubleshoots and repairs boiler, chillers and cooling towers as required. - (Essential)
- 5% - Ensures compliance with all regulatory and/or policy requirements. - (Essential)
- 5% - Supports the smooth and efficient operations of the department and the University. - (Essential)
