Manage and direct the activities of the team responsible for supporting the networking environment at Gannett. Perform day-to-day management and long-term planning to ensure the stability and performance of the environment. Identify opportunities to optimize cost and adapt to changing business requirements.
Develop and maintain adherence to best practices for the delivery of networking services across the enterprise. Provide technical leadership, and project and budget management and serve as an escalation point for all technical activities within the scope of the managed groups.
Base Salary range: $140-$150,000 annually
Duties and Responsibilities
- Strong people management experience, project management, and technical analysis skills across the position responsibility areas.
- Excellent customer service, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate across the organization as necessary.
- Direct and manage execution of support activity, and adherence to established practices and standards.
- Planning of maintenance activity and conflict avoidance for all responsible platforms and services.
- Provide direction for design and implementation activities for all network systems.
- Ensure that systems within the responsible area are monitored and assessed for expected performance and capacity indicators and plan accordingly to indicated trends.
- Collaborate with peers and leadership within the department and outside the department in support of business initiatives and planning activities.
- Manage, measure, report, and track customer satisfaction. Work with business leaders across the enterprise to address questions, issues, or concerns.
- Monitor SLA adherence provide feedback and implement operational change necessary for achievement of goals.
- Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to implement, enforce, and maintain security policies and procedures. Support audit activities as required.
- Formulate, maintain, monitor, implement, and test business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Vendor management for the responsible area's platforms and technologies to ensure value delivery, performance, and adherence to budget.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information technology, or related field or equivalent prior work experience/training combination.
- Minimum of five years experience in support of network systems/platforms.
- Demonstrated experience managing people and processes around networking technologies.
- Good leadership and coaching skills.
- Seasoned troubleshooter with broad knowledge of technology principles for areas of responsibility and beyond.
- Broad knowledge of IP transport systems/services.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $68,400 and $161,000. Base compensation is reflective of many factors, including, but not limited to, the market in which one lives/works, individual education level, skills, certifications and experience. Note: variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
