Job Summary/Basic Function

The administrative assistant will support the Chief Online Learning Officer, the MTSU Online Director, and the MTSU Online unit. The position will perform administrative and clerical tasks to provide high-quality service to students, faculty, staff and the public. This person will organize and manage assigned tasks from the Chief Online Learning Officer. Responsibilities include scheduling meetings and appointments; providing information about MTSU Online via phone, email, etc.; drafting correspondence and memos; monitoring and reconciling budget expenditures; making travel arrangements; providing assistance with local conferences and workshops; purchasing office supplies; performing other related tasks and projects as assigned. Work hours will be Monday through Friday in the MTSU Online unit office, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This is not a remote position.

Required Education

High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.

Required Related Experience

Two years of progressively responsible administrative/clerical experience or related experience in a support or customer service-focused environment.
Note: An Associate's degree (two years of college coursework) and one year of experience may be considered in lieu of work experience.

Desirable Related Experience

Associate Degree or Bachelors degree preferred. CAP preferred.
