Sanitation Truck Operator I

Public Works Department Sanitation Division. This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of a variety of residential sanitation collection vehicles. This includes, but is not limited to, side and rear load garbage packers, and trash trucks with an attached grapple boom. Incumbents of this classification generally operate curbside residential sanitation equipment. A minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience and valid Florida Class B commercial driver’s license are required. Have not lost any driving privileges by reason of revocation, suspension or denial of license, or have been convicted and/or had an adjudication withheld of three or more moving violations in the previous 36-month period. Knowledge of the operation and routine maintenance inspections of light and heavy equipment along with skill in operating and performing maintenance inspections of light and heavy equipment are also required.

Pay range: $18.91 to $30.25 per hour. Starting rate dependent upon qualifications. Excellent benefits.
