Sanitation Truck Operator II

Under the general supervision of the Sanitation foreman, this position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of all commercial and residential sanitation collection vehicles. This includes, but is not limited to, front, side and rear load garbage packers, trash trucks with an attached grapple boom. Incumbents of the classification generally operate all sanitation equipment as needed to accomplish operational objectives. Repairs and replaces commercial dumpsters. Operates various trucks and equipment in the loading, hauling, and transfer of garbage and other various materials and supplies. Resolves customer work orders and complaints. Assumes responsibility of Sanitation in the absence of the Foreman. Photographs and reports hazardous conditions. Completes routine inspections, cleaning, fueling, and preventative maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience and a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s License are required. Have not lost any driving privileges by reason of revocation, suspension or denial of license, or have been convicted and/or had an adjudication withheld of three or more moving violations in the previous 36-month period.

Pay range: $21.65 to $ 34.63 per hour. Starting rate dependent upon qualifications. Excellent benefits.
