Job Description
The position is a Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting. Successful candidates are expected to teach financial and managerial accounting principles courses. Depending on the candidate's experience and the department's needs, upper division courses may be assigned.

Required:Minimum Requirements for the position:

1. Education: applicants must have completed the Doctorate in Accounting or have ABD status in the pursuit of a Doctorate in Accounting. Candidates with ABD status must have a clear and reasonable plan for degree completion by 8/15/2024 that is included in their application. If the doctorate is not complete by 8/15/24 the rank for the position will be Visiting Instructor in Accounting.2. Scholarly Activity: Candidate has, or will have by June 2024, Scholarly Academic (SA) status under AACSB standards and demonstrates the willingness and ability to maintain SA status. Please include a detailed scholarship agenda in the application.3. At time of appointment, the successful candidate, if not a U.S. citizen, must have authorization from the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services to work in the United States.4. Consistency with diversity goals: Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to a diverse student population as well as an ability to teach, mentor, and work with diverse students.
Preferred: Candidates with the following credentials are preferred:1. Technological Proficiency: Demonstrated competence in the use of Excel and/or experience working with data analytics.2. Professional experience or academic interests in Auditing, Accounting Information Systems or Accounting Analytics.3. Work Experience and/or Credentials: Accounting professional work experience that is substantial in terms of duration and level of responsibility or professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).4. Teaching Experience in Accounting.5. Applicant demonstrates a promising scholarly focus in Accounting. Note: These credentials are preferred and will be considered after all required minimum requirements are met.
