Senior Development Associate



The University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) cultivates relationships with contributors, alumni, and other constituents on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, generating support for teaching, research, and care. PAE is seeking a Senior Development Associate to join a progressive team within our Health Sciences Individual Giving Department. This position will work specifically with the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, and various community hospitals. In this role, Senior Development Associate will be working in direct collaboration with development staff and will be developing/implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies for direct identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of select individual prospects.

This position will focus on major gifts across patients, alumni, and friends from UPMC and the School of Medicine, with a goal of increasing annual giving and moving selected portions of the portfolio into future major gifts.


Job Summary

Builds partnerships that strengthen existing donor relationships and identifies, cultivates, stewards, and solicits contributions. Facilitates stewardship evaluations and determines corresponding University and prospective interests.


Essential Functions

Able to visit with prospects in differing locations; use of telephone and personal computer; able to attend meetings in a variety of locations on and off campus. Have the ability and flexibility to travel as needed.


Physical Effort

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally
