Job Summary

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at the University of Utah is looking for a student to fill a PRN Communications and Social Media Coordinator role. This position will consistently post on our various social media platforms, utilize email, other communications and text distribution services, in conjunction with meeting strategic goals and advancement efforts within the department.

We use communication tools like social media, articles, newsletters, the department webpage, flyers, and public relation strategies with a goal to share our cutting-edge and innovative research; recruit faculty, fellows and residents from around the globe; highlight our exemplary education program and its professors; celebrate individual and community successes; spread awareness of imaging within our diverse community; promote local events and conferences; inform donors and potential donors of what they can do to support causes dear to their hearts; and share patients' stories of hope with the world.

We use communication tools like email and text distribution services to educate our patients on new research. Many patients do not realize that their doctor does not only work within the clinic and hospital but also works in their labs and research groups to publish findings, lead clinical trials and develop technological advances to improve different radiology services. Raising awareness about the life-altering findings and technology can improve the quality of life of patients by giving them added purpose, appreciation, and access to the latest information about their condition and healthcare provider.

This position will work closely with the department's leadership team to ensure all content is grammatically correct, meets strategic objectives and adheres to the department and university's professional standards. This position will also work closely with faculty, the Administrative Director, Chair, other leadership and Office of Advancement.
