The Winston-Salem Journal Greensboro News & Record has an immediate opening for a part-time Classified Account Representative.

We are looking for someone with a combination of print and digital skills. Sales support provided. Strong sales skills and a willingness to understand and find solutions for your customers' needs will allow you to succeed in this position. As a Classified Account Representative you will be expected to develop new business. This representative will be motivated through product, people and customer knowledge; passion for helping customers achieve their goals; high energy; and daily engagement. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training with an emphasis on telephone sales. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Job Description:
The following are key skills needed for this position:
1.Perform and execute all work practices in a safe manner. Constant safety awareness is mandatory for all employees. Safely drive to and from various locations if needed.
2.Promptly answer and return phone calls in a polite & professional manner.
3.Excellent verbal and written skills & excellent communication skills are a must.
4.Good computer & organizational skills are needed.
5.Establishes professional relationship and works with customers in determining needs and ensures satisfaction; communicates product services such as use of logos, graphics, borders, photos, special rates, etc.
6.Sells, processes and secures advertisement orders for publication; receives and keys all customer data into classified computer system; set-up billing account, processes credit card transactions and follows up with credit department.
7.Provides assistance with training of new and existing employees including instruction of the Mactive system, standard policies and procedures, credit problem handling and resolutions, as well as informing department manager of progress and/or problems.
8.Provides tear sheets to customers and processes charges upon request.
9.Assist in developing new promotional ideas, create ad layouts and sell display ads for accounts by phone. Prospect other publications/media to telemarket pickup advertising and get new ideas.
10.Works with Ad Production department to facilitate advertisers' concerns and/or requests; and proofs advertisements to customers, modifies and/or cancels advertisements as necessary.
11.Solicits renewals from expiring advertisements. Calls prospective customers to explain type of service or products and rates offered.
12.Monitors and processes advertisements received through individual and departmental email.
13.Responsible for referring any unusual or complex matters to the department manager.
14.Meet monthly & quarterly sales goals. Limit the number of errors or corrections necessary to standard set.
15. Other projects and duties as assigned.
16.On-site, regular and reliable attendance is required.
